In honor of another 365 days around the sun , I thought itās appropriate to write myself an open letter . Just to reminisce about the past year and tell myself the things that needs to be said but I rarely get to say .
So hereās what Iām telling myself today
Dear Zee ,
Let me start by telling you how incredibly proud I am of you . I know I hardly ever tell you that youāve done enough , no matter how hard you try . But girl , you are amazing! Over the last few years , I have watched you rewrite your story page after page . You never let things of the world get into you in a changed generation. And looking back now , I can say youāve come a long way from when you used to be .
Youāre a damn good writer āOne of the best in your industry āand youāre going to make something of yourself some day . I canāt wait to see a book š š with your name on the cover in a bookstore . But make sure you didnāt write about love . Because you loved too extreme and your heart is fragile
Allah said you will never work too hard before you get anything . This past year has been a blessing . You said yes to numerous new opportunities, I am happy that youāre finally beginning to see your potential for years , you had people tell you about how much potential they saw in you . But you never really saw it .
You held yourself back for so long because you felt you are not good enough . Look at all the awesomeness the world would have missed if you didnāt let go of that silly thought , ? This is just to say you are doing great and I canāt wait to see all that youāll accomplish in the coming years I do hope you always remember to hold your head up high , stay true to yourself no matter what , and never let the world rob you of that beautiful smile .
And on days when you feel discouraged , look up to God because He is not done writing this beautiful story that is your life . God is still writing the best part of your story especially the one you cherished .
Lately , youāre always so chilled and relaxed and on some days your mind is on heavy .
Then again , it could just be your anxiety.
