Aduke Gold’s source of death revealed amid family’s clash with hospital

The cause of death of young, talented and promising Gospel singer Aduke Gold has been revealed.

We reported on Tuesday that gospel artist Esther Igbeke, on social media, had announced the death of Aduke with a photo of her and a caption, “A general has fallen. RIP”.

According to reports which made rounds, the upcoming gospel singer was pronounced dead by medical experts at the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, Oyo State.

The family revealed that the singer died of cervical cancer and that the deceased’s body had been transferred to Lagos State, where burial rites would be held for her.

The singer’s elder brother, Theophilus Ajayi, who is a cleric, disclosed this on Wednesday during an interview with reporters on the circumstances surrounding her death. He noted that the family had obtained her death certificate and other medical reports from UCH indicating the ailment that led to the singer’s death.

Ajayi noted that other reports making rounds on her death were all false, as he urged Nigerians to pray for the singer’s family. Her brother, however, didn’t address issues raised by other members of the family against UCH, in which they claimed that the staff of the medical facility were responsible for the singer’s death.

The hospital, speaking out, shut down the report as they stated that the allegations by the family didn’t reflect the true story of what happened. The hospital said they don’t discriminate against anyone and treat everyone equally.

Recounting the incident, they noted how the policy of the medical profession doesn’t allow them to say much, as they revealed that the singer was in a serious condition when she was brought to the hospital, and she wasn’t rejected.
