Adedeji Adeleke, the father of popular Nigerian singer Davido recently got social media abuzz as he donated the sum of N1billion to the Cherubim and Seraphim church he attended today, August 18th 2024.
He dished out the N1billion to the church in remembrance of late mum, Esther Adeleke.
Reacting to the kind gesture of his dad to the church, Davido who was also in attendance wrote via the insta-stories section of his verified Instagram page;
“My dear father inspires me every day, love this man right here.”
Adedeji Adeleke, father of Nigerian singer Davido and Chairman of Pacific Group, has donated N1 billion to the centenary Endowment Fund of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church.
The billionaire businessman announced the donation at a thanksgiving service on Sunday held at the headquarters of the C&S Church in Lagos in memory of his mum Esther Adeleke.
A video capturing a church thanksgiving programme has gone viral online as it showed Davido in attendance with his father, Adedeji Adeleke, Ogun-State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, Lagos-State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, wives of Governor Adeleke, Titilayo Adeleke and Ngozi Adeleke; chief of staff to Governor Adeleke, Kazeem Akinleye; House Speaker, Adewale Egbedun; head of service, Ayanleye Aina; members of the State House of Assembly; members of the state executive council; and media entrepreneur, Dele Momodu.
During the program, Davido’s father announced the whopping sum of money in front of the senior pastors and other congregation.
In his words, “In honour of our late mother, senior mother in Israel, late Mrs Esther Adeleke, I donate N1 billion to the centenary endowment fund of the C&S Church.”
Esther (nee Akpara) hailed from Akwete, Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State. She was the founder of a C&S church in Ede, Osun State.
She was known as senior mother-in-Israel of the church, the same title presently held by her daughter, Modupe Adeleke-Sanni.
The video, which was shared by blogger Tunde Ednut, captured the attentions of many online including Davido, who shared his reactions via comment section.
He made it known that his father likes to donate to church or education.
Davido reacted, “Anything Church or education no worry u don cash out 😂”.
He also took to his Instagram story as he showered praises on his father, stating how he got inspired by his man’s generosity towards the church.
He wrote , “My dear father inspires me every day! Love this man right here
