“God doesn’t want a sinner to diie, beg him to forgive you and I will help you then” – Portable advices Bobrisky amid controversy

Nigerian artist Portable has urged the troubled crossdresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, to reconsider his actions and “repent from his sinful ways.”

Crossdresser Bobrisky has been counseled by Nigerian musician Portable to “repent from his sinful ways” and go back on his previous path. In reaction to Bobrisky’s present legal and personal difficulties, Portable made the following remarks.

After serving a portion of a six-month term for allegedly abusing naira currency, Bobrisky was freed from prison on August 5; nevertheless, he is currently the target of fresh accusations.

Portable’s comments come in light of the ongoing legal and personal difficulties that Bobrisky is currently experiencing.

Recently released from prison on August 5 after serving part of a six-month sentence that commenced on April 12 for his involvement in the misuse of the Nigerian currency, the naira, Bobrisky now faces additional allegations.

According to TORI, the situation intensified when social media influencer Martin Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, shared an alleged audio recording in which Bobrisky purportedly claimed to have bribed officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with ₦15 million to have the charges against him dismissed.

Bobrisky, a prominent transgender figure on social media, has refuted these allegations, labeling the audio as “fake” and asserting that he has not engaged in any bribery, stating, “I served my term in prison.”

In response to the bribery allegations, the EFCC has summoned both Bobrisky and Otse for questioning, with the agency’s chairman, Ola Olukoyede, initiating a comprehensive investigation into the claims.

The Nigerian government has also acted promptly, suspending two officers from the Nigerian Correctional Service implicated in the controversy.

Adding to the complexity of the situation, rapper Falz has corroborated part of Otse’s allegations in a letter to the activist, claiming that Bobrisky had solicited ₦3 million from him to secure preferential treatment while incarcerated, a request he declined.

Amid these legal challenges, Bobrisky has disclosed that he is grappling with suicidal thoughts, although he emphasized that he does not seek sympathy but rather understanding during this challenging period.

In response to the unfolding events, Portable took to Instagram to advise Bobrisky against suicidal thoughts, encouraging him instead to seek repentance and divine forgiveness, which could lead to a transformative change in his life.

Portable said, “Bobrisky, life is risky. God does not want sinners to die. Tell him to repent. Damn it to any sinner that does not repent. If you die, you are going to hell. Beg God to forgive you. God does not want a sinner to die.

“Help me tell Bobrisky to ask God for forgiveness. All Bobrisky needs is to ask God for forgiveness of sin. What Bobrisky is facing now, if he repents, he will enjoy the world. But if he does not repent.”
