Bukunmi Oluwashina’s Love Story: As Shared by Herself

Bukunmi and her husband’s love story is one for the ages. It began when they were young and in love, still in secondary school.

In 2010, as they were leaving secondary school, Bukunmi asked her then boyfriend for something to remember him by.

He gave her his wine wristband, and she promised to keep it forever and maybe wear it on their wedding day.

He teased her, saying she might meet better guys in university and forget about him.

But years went by, and she never forgot about him. Their love remained strong, despite the challenges they faced.

He supported her dreams, even when she decided to study Theatre Art. He contributed to her screenplay ideas, helping her win awards for her movies.

Through it all, their love continued to grow. He made her feel like the only girl in the world, calling her every day, even after they had just seen each other. He encouraged her, supported her, and loved her unconditionally and vice versa.

Bukunmi’s dad once said that learning to fix things when they’re broken, rather than throwing them away, was the secret to a happy marriage. Her boyfriend had mastered that art, holding on to their love through thick and thin.

Years later, Bukunmi looked back on their journey and realized that their love had only grown stronger. She loved him more than all the fights, mistakes, and challenges they would face. She loved him for who he was, and she wanted to spend forever with him.

In 2020, Bukunmi and her boyfriend finally tied the knot, surrounded by friends and family.

A year later, in 2021, they welcomed their first child, a beautiful daughter, into the world.

Their love story was now a family affair, and they couldn’t wait to see what the future held.
