Renowned Nigerian Evangelist and founder of Mount Zion Faith Drama Ministry, Mike Bamiloye, and his lovely wife Gloria, recently celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary.
Here’s their inspiring love story:
Mike and Gloria’s journey began in 1985 when Mike proposed to Gloria, and she accepted after praying about it. At the time, Mike had just graduated from the University of Ibadan in 1983 and served in 1983/84.
Right from his campus days, Mike was involved in drama ministry. After his Youth Service, he was fully involved in campus drama evangelism with the fellowship drama group, traveling to other campuses and churches outside the campus for drama presentations.
Gloria joined the drama group in 1985, and Mike proposed to her in July of that year. She prayed about it and said “Yes” on August 4th, 1985.
Gloria’s family initially opposed their relationship, questioning Mike’s financial stability and job security. Mike’s own elder sister even led the opposition, warning Gloria’s family not to let their daughter marry him because he had no job.
Despite having minimal material possessions – just one single room with basic furniture and a bookshelf – Gloria was drawn to Mike’s spiritual substance and passion for drama ministry. His bookshelf, filled with spiritual books by authors like Kenneth Hagin, Oral Roberts, and T.L. Osborne, particularly impressed her.
The couple married in 1988 and have been blessed with:
- Two sons: Damilola Mike-Bamiloye (Christian filmmaker and producer) and Joshua Mike-Bamiloye
- One daughter: Darasimi Gomba-Oyor
- Four grandchildren
Together, they have produced numerous life-changing Christian films through Mount Zion Faith Drama Ministry, including:
- “The Blood of the Cross”
- “Apaye”
- “Shattered Dreams”
- “One Careless Night”
- “The Unprofitable Servant”
Mount Zion has become a renowned platform for spreading the Gospel through drama and film, inspiring countless people worldwide.
Mike often praises Gloria for her unwavering support and faith in him. Her selflessness and commitment to their shared vision have been instrumental in their successful marriage and ministry.
